AgCarolina Financial, part of the nationwide Farm Credit System, has provided financing for agriculture and rural living since 1916. We serve eastern North Carolina with 12 branch offices located throughout.
We have more than $1 billion in outstanding loans to more than 3,000 members. Local directors, who are also farmers, govern us.
Unlike commercial banks, our cooperative structure means a portion of the profits generated from our lending activity is returned to our borrowers in the form of patronage refunds which are based on the proportion of interest earned on an individual loan. This significantly reduces the cost of borrowing for our customers. Patronage refunds are distributed as a cash payment.
