Grant Programs

AgCarolina Financial has established a new corporate-giving program, The Fund for Rural North Carolina.

Under this new program, two types of grants will be awarded:

• Association Directed Grants:
  • Miscellaneous agricultural related grants of up to $1,000
    • Examples:
      • FFA and 4-H donations
      • Farm education and safety
  
  
• Application Based Grants
  • Application based grants will be awarded for up to $5,000 per organization per year.
  • To be considered for funding, grants must align with the Fund's mission as well as at least one of the following four focus areas:
    • Education
    • Environment
    • Technology
    • Quality of Rural Life

Grants will be considered for programs only in the 34 county geographic areas where AgCarolina Financial conducts business. Grants will be group or organization based and generally will not be given to individuals.

Funds will generally not be approved for the following:

• Programs outside of focus area
• Programs of religious groups
• Legislative or lobbying efforts
• Political campaigns
• Medical research or facilities
• Fundraising activities such as: benefits, charitable dinners, or annual fund drives for sporting events
• Sponsorship of sports teams or sporting activities
• Construction or maintenance of recreational facilities such as: ballparks, bleachers, trails, playground equipment, health club memberships, etc.
• Books and magazines, articles or advertising in professional journals
• Fraternal societies and orders, or veteran organizations
• Theatrical productions
• Arts related facilities and activities such as: performing group equipment, concerts, art shows, theatrical productions, etc.
• All or portions of public or private school teaching positions.
