Featured Intern - Katelyn Honeycutt
Release date: 7/2/2018
AgCarolina Farm Credit is proud to have Katelyn as a part of our team as a summer intern. The Johnston County native shares information here about her background and interest in agriculture.
My name is Katelyn Honeycutt and I am an AgCarolina intern in the Raleigh and Smithfield branches. I am currently a senior at NC State University double majoring in agriculture education and agriculture business management.
I grew up on a family farm in Benson, NC. I started my own CSA business growing, selling, and delivering produce boxes. The start of this business sparked my interest for business and math in high school. My passion for agriculture and interest in business made AgCarolina Farm Credit seem like the perfect place to spend this summer.
Throughout the month of June, I have attended loan closings, construction inspections for agriculture related buildings and rural homes, a PR event, and visited with customers on their farms. I have worked with the other two interns to collaborate and create two projects, an equipment data sales project and a personal finance curriculum for high school students. I have learned so much from everyone at AgCarolina Farm Credit in a wide variety of positions. I am truly starting to understand the multitude of ways that AgCarolina serves farmers and rural communities.
