Roots Run Deep - Roy Robertson

I’d like you to meet an old friend of mine. This Ferguson TO-20 is the first tractor my father bought in 1962. A few other things happened that year; dad and mom were married, dad left a promising career as a NC State Trooper to begin a new career in banking, and he officially began taking the reins of the family business – farming.

My dad used to take off his necktie after work at the bank and put on his work boots to handle tasks around the farm. That work ethic was instilled in me at a very young age. He was committed to providing for his family just the same as I am committed to providing for my family.

Thankfully, the agriculture industry we serve at AgCarolina Farm Credit is committed to providing for all of us the food, fiber, and fuel we need. I’m thankful each day as the Senior VP of Corporate Lending to work with the farmers and agribusinesses that make North Carolina agriculture great.

I learned to drive on that little Ferguson in Warren County and I’ve been asked a few times if I’d be willing to sell it. My reply is always the same. That tractor is worth more to me than anyone else would ever pay for it.

AgCarolina Farm Credit understands that there is no farm that’s not a family farm. We are committed to providing a sound and reliable source of credit to farms of all sizes.

I’m Roy Robertson and my #RootsRunDeep.
