Sarah Grace Stone - Intern Spotlight

Hello! I am Sarah Grace Stone, the spring intern here at AgCarolina Farm Credit in the Raleigh, Smithfield, and Louisburg branches. I am so excited to be a part of the team!

I grew up in Robeson County on my family's farm. I have spent most of my time growing up working cattle, harvesting crops, and running my family's roadside produce stand. I really enjoy riding my horse through the cow pastures at home, checking on the cows.

I am a student at NC State, pursuing a degree in agricultural business management. In my free time, I lead a freshman Bible study with Cru and I am involved with the Collegiate Shag Association of Raleigh. I also am a part of the Ag Business Management club.

Starting off, working in an office intimidated me. Coming from the farm, and having no previous experience in an office, I thought it would be a slower pace than I liked. After spending a couple of weeks with the employees at AgCarolina, I have learned that it is not at all a slow pace internship, it's actually quite the opposite. I have attended loan closings, equipment valuations, visited different members, helped with PPP loans, as well as run the social media pages!

Everyone here at AgCarolina has been so nice and welcoming. Everyone is so friendly and goes above and beyond to make sure I have everything I need and am learning the most during my time here. I have spent time working with the marketing team, the MSS team, and the loan officers and have learned so much from everyone. My favorite experiences have consisted of being able to meet different farmers around North Carolina that I never would have met without this opportunity, being a part of the loan process from start to finish, and simply learning about finance that I am able to apply to my personal life. I am beginning to understand the multitude of ways AgCarolina Farm Credit servers farmers and rural communities and gaining a desire to be a part of the team after graduation!
